Sure. A lot of food is quite relaxed over here, in New Zealand. Most people have the typical meat and three veg dinner, although some are more adventurous. Due to our proximity to the ocean, seafood is very popular in NZ. Pretty much every town/city has a variety of seafood restaurants and fresh seafood is readily available for purchase. Crayfish, oysters, paua, mussels, scallops and pipis are a few of those popular seafoods. Like North America we have a vegetable which I believe you would call a 'sweet potato'. In New Zealand, we have those two but we call them 'kumeras' and the purple ones are more popular/available as opposed to the orange/gold variety. We have a national dessert called the 'pavlova' as well ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavlova_(fo… ) which is always popular at a barbeque or special occasion. Speaking of barbeques, we just love those! In summer, you'll see us kiwis outside grilling dozens of sausages and steak. There is the Maori tradition called a hangi, in which food is cooked under the ground and when they pull it out, it is lovely and roasted. The tradition is obviously more popular to Maori people, although even then it is rarely done, only during special/formal occasions usually. We have a very popular 'candy' called hokey pokey, which is featured in ice-cream as well as a variety of other lollies and sweet treats. It is quite common for a New Zealand family to go down to the local fish 'n chip shop and buy a couple of scoops of chips, some fish, flips, pineapple rings, hot dogs (and more) for dinner, as fish 'n chips seem to be a large part of our eating culture. Meat pies, especially mince pies are pretty much everywhere! Especially at dairies, and although they are really unhealthy, people love 'em.
I'd be happy to answer any more questions you have.
