Do some people eat gerbils?!

Question: Do some people eat gerbils?
I don't mean, "Is it physically possible?" I mean, "Are there people on this Earth that actually eat gerbils?"

People eat anything when they're hungry, so yes.
Did you ever see the films from WWII of the old lady scraping the residue from a garbage can?
That has to be one of the saddest scenes ever( real footage).
It kind of makes a gerbil look very appetizing.
Bugs and worms are also very popular in many countries.

Anything is edible as Willy Wonka said in the movie. Even you are edible. Anything can be eaten, especially meat or animals. With plants, there's a bigger chance that it's not beneficial to eat them (if you're a human). I've seen people eat rats, cockroaches, ants, scorpions, spiders, so why not gerbils? It's not outside the realm of possibility. It's actually very possible and might even be a delicacy in a few countries.

EDIT: found a Google (is this forbidden?) book that says it's a delicacy in some parts of South Africa (see source for link)
