Gorgonzola is a type of blue cheese, whether or not its good for your health is a matter of opinion and personal needs. Some people must avoid cheese due to its dairy content, such as those with lactose or milk allergies.Others are allergic to the yeast used in cheese production. If you are prone to yeast infections and or candida albicans or thrush its best to avoid cheese due to its mold content. As is those who are sensitive to molds.Organic cheeses are better for health then non-organic since the cows are not injected with growth hormones, and pesticides are not used in its feed. For people who are not dairy intolerant or yeast intolerant cheese is a good source of calcium, but there are many sources of calcium in the plant kingdom as well.
For those watching fat and cholesterol intact cheese can be high in fat,so portion size must be maintained.

its safe if you store it properly. Please do some research and learn about certain cheeses. If this one grossed you out then just avoid it , and try a Goat Cheese etc......

It's just fine. Lots of molds, spores and cultures are perfectly fine to eat (mushrooms, yogurt cultures, blue cheese), as long as you don't have a specific allergy to the mold or a lactose intolerance to cheese. Doesn't mean you want to eat the moldy slice of pepperoni pizza lurking for the past couple of months in the back of the fridge--not all molds are quite so edible.

That said, it's probably best not to think about it too much. That nice grilled chicken, Anjou pear and pasta in a gorgonzola-garnished Alfredo sauce won't seem so tasty if you're thinking, 'Hmm....fettucine with moldy Alfredo'....

Enjoy!

No, it's good for you.
