If you ate it in a Halal restaurant, the falafel is not forbidden. Halal food stores and restaurants only have halal food, meaning a muslim may eat it. It is not forbidden. BTW, pork is forbidden.

halal means allowed haram is not allowed.
I don't know how that has anything to do with falafel?
Its made of veggies and spices so if you're a vegetarian or something its ok to eat.
Halal restraunts are there so muslims can eat freely without having to worry about not getting meat or anything fried in lard from there. Its really good to go there, the meats and food is probably much healthier and cleaner than regular restraunts.

halal means unforbidden
haram means forbidden
but about falafel there's no forbidden or unforbidden with it because its made from vegetables (humos)

halal means its ok for muslims to eat
haram means its not ok for muslims to eat

there is no reason that someone who doesn't have religious rules on food to eat or not eat halal or haram foods
