Is "Mexico bun" or "Mexican coffee bun" an actual mexican food, or a dim sum/Chinese bakery adoption!

Question: Is "Mexico bun" or "Mexican coffee bun" an actual mexican food, or a dim sum/Chinese bakery adoption?
I always see these products for sale at Chinese bakeries, and wanted to know if this is an actual product in Mexico.

Answers:

"Mexican bun" look very similar to the pan dulce found in Mexican bakery, because both originated from Europe. The Chinese bakeries that sell these buns are all Hong Kong style bakeries which are different from mainland Chinese stores. Because Hong Kong was under British rule for over 150 years, and that 1-2 centuries ago the British had colonies all around the globe, British military had introduced many different food and cuisine to Hong Kong people, including Mexican bun which supposedly was discovered in the Philippines back then. Somehow the Hong Kong people love this sweet bread and many people eat this for breakfast while having their coffee in many of the "tea cafes" found in that city.
