Question:

Is there animal fat in Mayonnaise?

Me and my friend are vegetarians and we want to know if there is animal fat in mayonnaise. We are not sure, so, please let us know!

Answers:
Yes, its made with eggs. You can get veganase, which is vegan-its made with soy. Commercial mayonaise has other animal derived ingredients as well, such as stablizers and preservatives.

Not that I'm aware of, but it does have eggs in it.

Animal fat in the form of Liquid Chickens. (eggs) So yes.

In some their are but they make both vegaterian mayo and veganaise.

Yes, anything with egg or milk still has animal fat.
Vegenaise is yummy! I like it better than regular mayo.
You should be able to find it at any health food store.
Call around and you will find it locally, I'm sure.

if it has gelatin...yes

Miracle Whip (salad dressing) has eggs but nothing that came from an actual dead animal if that's what you mean. I think real mayonaise has lard in it but I'm not sure.

does it matter???pansy

yes if it tastes good then it has an animal in there somewhere.thanks for 2.

Yes Mayo has eggs. If you are vegetarian then it would be ok. If you are vegan then it would be a no no.

There are several vegan mayo's on the market but I have yet to find one that I liked. So far so gross.

It's made mostly of egg whites

No, but it does have eggs. Most kinds are made of soybean oil, water, eggs and vinegar.

The average mayo is made with eggs. There are quite a few eggless varieties out there.
