Question: Can you buy pot sticker sauce? I can't seem to find it in the store.?
I LOVE pot sticker sauce! But they don't sell it at the store! One chinese food place I've been to seems to use Soy vinegar but I can't find that anywhere. Any suggestions?

i'm obsessed with potstickers! i've seen the 'ling ling' potsticker sauce at costco before, but it's not always there. why don't you try making your own. just try a few recipes until you find one you like.

Potstickers Spicy Dipping Sauce

1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon chili-garlic sauce
1 teaspoon hot chili oil

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, chili-garlic sauce and hot chili oil. Mix well.

Homemade Pot Sticker Dipping Sauce

1/3 C soy sauce
4 tsp sugar
1 tsp rice vinegar
? tsp sesame oil
1 garlic clove, either smashed or minced
1 chili, finely chopped (you can add as much or little as you like)

Combine all ingredients and serve.

There is no standard for "pot sticker sauce", but many companies make one and it's sold near the soy sauce in the store. They also call it gyoza sauce (Japanese) or dumpling sauce.

You can just make your own as well. Most pot sticker sauces start with soy sauce, then have sesame oil and minced garlic added, along with either ponzu sauce (for sweetness) or chili oil (for spiciness) Other ingredients to try include fresh sliced ginger, rice wine vinegar or red vinegar.

You can mix up your own special recipe and keep it in the fridge in a recycled soy sauce bottle.

You'll have to keep looking around. There are some oriental grocery stores in my area that sell it, but others do not (probably because it's not that hard to make, but I certainly understand the appeal of coming home after a hectic day at awork, and just having time to heat up some pot stickers and pour some ready-made sauce in a bowl).
