here's wut i suggest:
ball park hotdogs from the grocery store
make sure u GRILL THEM ON THE GRILL(it makes them crispy, that's the main trick to good hotdogs)
and put the cheese on under the chili so the chili melts the cheese, and then more on top too if u want.
those r the main things i look 4 in an out of this world hot dog. hope it helps yah out, i'd try em' all the next time ya make hot dogs. hope they turn out ok!!!
My son likes those too. We buy the all red beef ones and he will put them in a skillet on the stove and fry em up. The other way we cook them are the obvious ones like the outdoor grill or boiling.
But the secret is really in the kind you're buying, there is not much you can do to regular hot dogs to get the taste, I get a package of 12 of the all beef, red dogs at Super Walmart for about $4.50 if on sale, if not about $7.00.

my mom would say to fry in a pan with onion and butter ...if you dont like onion leave it out...put a lid on it till done.. toast bun in pan spread butter on bun just a little ..and toast...buy all beef hotdogs...
Go for Sabrett hot dogs, and boil them! That's how they do it at the ballparks. Dirty water dogs reign supreme.
The best way is to boil them to cook them all the way through, then cook them in a pan to get that flavor on the outside.
i'd go with vienna-all beef, grilled or boiled, poppy seed bun, relish, mustard, onion, hot pepper, tomato, pickle, celery salt.
Not many baseball games here to get hotdogs, but I make them at home.
The sub, cooked frank, sauted onion or sauerkraut, grated cheese, Crystal Mustard and Thai Chili Sauce. Really yummy! Not sure if you can call it out of this world, but certainly the best i've tasted in New Zealand lol. Hope that doesn't sound like I'm gloating.
i would go with the big polish sauages you can buy them at sams or costo club get the big buns boilthem add beer or toping they have all kinds of sauages and hot dogs down there enjoy i always buy mine at sams

Put out your usual dressings--Ketchup-mustard-rel... and a few extra delicious special fillings that are personal taste items like dill pickles-chopped onions-tomatoes etc. Cold soda drinks with ice and maybe a coleslaw or potato salad.
