Is popcorn considered a vegetable?!

Question:

Is popcorn considered a vegetable?

Why would it be considered a grain if it comes from corn?

Answers:
dry corn kernels are considered a grain because their properties are more like grain - starchy, you can make baked goods and beer from it like other grains. So it is considered grain because it acts like grain.

Fresh corn still has sugar that hasn't turned to starch and thus is considered a vegetable.

no ewwwww i dont think so

Actually, it should be considered as one. It is a grain, and it does come from corn. It is also, very good for you.

Popcorn is a GREAT "diet" food. It has practically NO nutritional value. Just an FYI for you. Oh, and you should try soy sauce and vinegar on popcorn... it's GREAT !! Together or separate.

I think that it made from a soda pop, so no, it's not a vegetable.

Or maybe from old newspapers.

It sounds corny when it pops though.

That's why it is POP-u-lar.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! But it's good!

no. because it is cooked in oils and covered with butter. Fatty, and full of salt

Corn is a grain. So, it's not technically a vegetable.
