Do you like tomato soup? Or more specifically cream of tomato soup?!

Question:

Do you like tomato soup? Or more specifically cream of tomato soup?

In my family it was like at least a once a week thing. Any unusual things you do with it? I like tons of pepper on mine, and croutons and sometimes grated cheese. I know someone who swears that made with buttermilk instead of milk that it's great. Kind of reluctant to try it because I hate buttermilk. What do you do?

Answers:
I love cream of tomato soup, especially with grilled cheese. Here is what I Like to do with mine to make it special:

CRAB - TOMATO BISQUE SOUP

1 lb King Crab leg meat (in chunks)
1 medium onion, finely diced
2 celery stalks, finely diced
2 cans tomato bisque soup
2 cans milk
2 tablespoons butter

Prepare onion and celery, peel and chop onions to a fine dice. Remove strings from celery, wash and finely dice.
In a skillet, melt butter. Sauté onion and celery until soft. Stir in Tomato Bisque Soup, milk and crab meat. Heat to serving temperature.

Serve with Saltines or toasted sour dough bread and butter.

i like to stick goldfish crackers in mine. another thing that do....but it's with sloppy joe...i like to eat/scoop it up with doritos.

yes a said above grilled cheese dipped in it
or rits crackers are good to dipped or broken up.
I actually use 1/2&1/2 in mine intead of milk
its richer.

I love it any way I can get it! Creamy (w/ whipping cream added) or not. If I make the canned stuff, I add a half can of water and half can of milk, whisk in, add a bay leaf, and bring to a simmer. Then put a pat of butter in a bowl, top w/ soup, and add black pepper on top. Mmmmm!

This is also fantastic! Worth the effort of buying (or harvestin!) so many tomatoes! Extra freezes beautifully.

My Grandfather was a chef. All my Moms brothers worked behind the grill, one stuck with cooking. His wife was a chef, my brother is a chef, my cousin Linda is a chef. I know how to cook myself.

With all that variety in style from my family plus 14 years on the road I say try it different whenever you can. If you don't like it you know, if you do like it you know.

I used to make tomato soup quite often when I lived alone.
I made mini bowls of it.
Ingredients:

one little mini can of evaporated milk
one little mini can of tomato juice
baking soda
pepper
butter

Heat tomato juice till it almost boils. add a pinch of baking soda, then add the canned milk. Heat, add lots of butter and pepper.
I like it mine with all sorts of stuff on top, croutons, crackers, cheese,or even in a cup to drink. Mostly I like it with lots of butter and pepper.

I like to add leftover macaroni and cheese to my tomato soup. It really is good =0)

You could aways use full body cream if you don't have to watch your waistline.

mmmm i freaking love tomato soup, espically with grilled cheese. yum im hungry now :)

My daughter and I just had that yesterday for lunch. She had a half grilled cheese sandwich with hers and I had mine with Zesta crackers. I've been eating this soup since I was a kid.
