What is the best way to store bread?!

Question:

What is the best way to store bread?

If I leave it out, it stays nice and fresh, but not for long. If I refrigerate it, it gets dry. If I freeze it, it takes forever to defrost. I am at a loss.

Answers:
It depends on how much bread you buy, and eat.

If you buy only one loaf but don't eat alot, I say freeze HALF of it and leave the other half out (wrapped in like saran wrap or something) And when you're down to you're last pieces of fresh bread, take the other half out of the freezer to thaw.

my kitchen :P

You gotta choose one or the other, I personally keep mine in the fridge and don't have a problem with molding or dryness.

in the fridge with a piece of celery in the bag to keep it moist

When I am in a tropical climate, I put bread in the fridge. Otherwise, I keep it out on the counter and replace it often. I don't like cold bread, though.

If you freeze it, you could put slices in the microwave.

If it's dry, try putting a few drops of water on a slice and then put it in the microwave.

I FREEZE MY BREAD TIL YOUR READY TO USE IT THEN IF I NEED IT JUST TAKE IT OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE OR IF YOU HAVE ONE OPEN DEPENDING ON HOW HOT IT IS IF IS GOOD WEATHER IT'S OKAY TO KEEP IT OUT IF IT'S REALLY HOT IT WILL GO BAD FASTER SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO KEEP IT IN THE REFRIGERATOR

I cannot stand refrigerated bread, ewwww yuk!! I freeze extra bread and thaw it in my bread box, it thaws fast and soft. You can microwave bread just a little on like 30 seconds at a time too, comes out nice and soft.

Don't buy so much of it .The best place to store it is in your stomach,so buy something else that keeps longer if you can't go to the store often enough.By the way? Nothen beats fresh bread from a bakery! So take a walk and smell what you've been missen.

Breadbox

Freeze it for best storage. If you don't like it cold then buy one loaf at a time and eat it quickly!

This may seem odd, but in the microwave!! it works just like a bread box to help keep it fresh. my bread last two times as long. Also I put the bread in a zip-lock bag once it is small enough. I notice that it gets stale towards the end of the loaf, so the bag helps a lot. Use a gallon sized bag.

Please be smart and remove it from the microwave BEFORE using the microwave!

refrigate it
