Vegan??~~!?!

Question:

Vegan??~~!?

what is the difference between vegan and vegatarian. arent they the same?

Answers:
no, they aren't the same. vegetarians just don't eat meat (that includes fish).

vegans on the other hands don't consume ANY animal ingredients at all (of course, that includes dairy and meat). vegans do not wear fur, any type of animal skin. vegans do not use anything that has been tested on animals. in conclusion, there is a huge difference between veganism and vegetarianism.

No, they are not the same. Vegetarians eat no meat, poultry or fish, but do often consume milk, eggs or other animal by products. Vegans use no animal products, such as leather, honey, wool, or animal derived ingredients in foods.

They are not the same at all.

Vegetarians eat no meat, fish, or poultry. That's it.

Vegans, however, have a lot more "rules". Vegans do not eat meat, fish, poultry, dairy, eggs (or anything with dairy/eggs in it), gelatin, or honey. They also do not wear wool, leather, or buy clothing with wool/leather on it. Finally, they do not buy personal products (toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap) that have animal ingredients in them. The products also should not be tested on animals. Animal ingredients can't be in their food, either, which is why you will often see them reading labels. For a list of ingredients vegans have to steer clear of, look here:

I'm a vegan, have been for ten months, and I still haven't gotten all of these ingredients out of my personal products (like my soap and toothpaste), mostly because my mom bought some stuff for me (not knowing it wasn't vegan) and is making me use it up before we buy the vegan stuff. I also still use non-vegan makeup (though none of it is tested on animals) because it's incredibly hard to find the vegan makeup around here, and my mother refuses to buy it for me online. So, once I'm eightteen, my makeup drawer will also be veganized. :)

To me, vegetarians are almost as bad as omnivores... :/ Unless they're the understanding kind, but most aren't. Most vegetarians disagree with vegans and think we make them look like "whackos". Pff.

Choosing to eat a vegan diet means eliminating all animal products, not just meat. No dairy, no eggs.

A vegan is a vegetarian, but a vegetarian may or may not be a vegan.
Vegetarian don't eat meat. But they may take dairy products and eggs.
Vegans don't eat meat, or dairy or eggs. They don't take any animal product or animal-derived product as well. They also avoid the use of animal products and animal-derived products in their daily lives (e.g. not use leather seats, using vegan shampoos etc.)

Vegetarians do not eat any Animal product except Milk-Vegans do not drink Milk also.
