Can you subsitute beer for white wine while cooking!?!

Question:

Can you subsitute beer for white wine while cooking!?

Answers:
There are some recipes in which beer is very good. But the flavors of beer and wine are so different that I'd say its not generally a good substitute. At least not without a lot of forethought. If I don't have wine handy, I'll generally substitute chicken stock with some wine vinegar. After cooking it won't taste vinegary, but the wine vinegar will pick up some of those fruity notes and provide the acidity that the wine would provide. Bon appetite!

YES
but you might get a headache if you do too fast....
:~)

think of how white wine tastes. and then think of how beer tastes.

not the best idea, no!

chicken stock/ veg stock or apple juice might be an ok substitute...drink the beer!

maybe so, but be careful,...... I only use beer to boil/soak crabs...And i don't even drink beer, but it is SLAMMING! Try it sometimes ok, you will not be disappointed...

Depends on what you're cooking. If it's a beef dish, I say absolutely! But if you're trying to make something in a delicate white wine and saffron sauce, I would say, probably not.

For the chef's enjoyment, yes...whether you are drinking white wine or beer, usually doesn't matter to the outcome.

As an ingredient, the only beer that I have seen/ heard working IN PLACE of WHITE wine is Beck's beer--- for
marinating/early cooking use room-temperature Beck's.
For sauce that will be served after cooking, or when White wine is called for at the middle or end of cooking, use COLD BECK's beer.
