Are in-shell salted peanuts cleaned before reaching the store?!

Question:

Are in-shell salted peanuts cleaned before reaching the store?

My husband says most likely not. I am freaked out now after sucking the salt off of about 50 of them last night. I love the salt, it's the best part! I would think they'd have to wash them. Am I wrong?

Answers:
Relax, they are cleaned, especially the salted ones that have to go through a salt-water solution before being roasted. It would say "raw" on the package if they weren't cooked and generally those are sterilized as well.

JUST think
How Did They Get The Salt ON To The Nut Inside?
a magic transporter??
How about boiling water and salt?????

In order for them to get salt on they have to boil them in water, then dry and roast them. After, they are salted!

Don't you worry, you didn't suck off anything more than salt.
