Question:

Is there a good pizza that can be bought from a supermarket ?

ive tried several now and all i got was bread/ketchup and a bit of cheese.

anyone know a good frozen pizza for sale in shops ?

Answers:
The fresh pizzas in the chilled section are far better than the frozen ones, but if you really want frozen I think the Chicago Town deep dish ones are the best.

No. You should make your own from fresh ingredients. They are simple and delicious. Have a go.

ASDA have some nice ones of 99p. Veg and non-veg

celeste

goodfellas is really nice !!!

frozen ones are crap go to walmart asda u can make your own really tastey

I tried them all,and keep coming back to tombstone..

Hell yeah, my favorite is DiGiorno stuffed crust, it's delish. And the rising crust is really good too if you don't like stuffed crust. It's seriously really, really good and I like it better than the greasy crap like Pizza Hut or Dominoes or Papa John's. It's even as good as some of the local Italian restaurants pizza, in a different way.

Also, make sure you cook it directly on the oven rack, not on a cookie sheet or pizza stone or anything. It'll come out too soft and almost soggy if you don't.

And anyone who says "They all taste like cardboard/crap" has never tried DiGiorno. Freschetta and DiGiorno changed the face of frozen pizza about 10 years ago. DiGiorno is better, though.

They all taste of cardboard. The only thing to make them edible is to add your own toppings like fresh tomatoes and olives etc.

in my opinion Red Baron is the best type of frozen pizza :D

Yes make ure own pizza, im totally sure of measurment but for the dough u need flour, sugar, salt, yeast olive oil, water, and if u have any semolina flour. mix it all up, leave it to prove, knock back, roll out. Easy, them add whatever topping u like.
Or, answer to ure question, asda do good fresh ones.
and nice cookies too.

Tesco cheese feast stuffed crust is nice but not as nice as a freshly cooked pizza from your local pica delivery shop there is a great italian one near me

at trader joes...

thin, healthy and soooooo good!!
plus u can add whatever u want on the top!

Buy the organic stuff at any local co-op or fresh foods store. They use all natural and fresh pizza ingredients. It tastes great, and fresh, just as if you made it from home! A little more pricey than regular pizzas, but you are getting a better deal if you think about it. =]

GOODFELLAS Spicy Chicken Jolt. Or Steak feast.
Or Dr Okters plain one.
Nothing comes close.

Morrisons or Asda fresh ones are good. Other than that, make your own. Buy the fresh dough base though (rolled up and in the fridge with the ready made pastry) not the 2in a pack, biscuit type bases. Or why not buy a ciabatta loaf and pile the ingredients on that?

I like DiGiorno, also. Even the microwave DiGiorno's are good.

try your own again, buy either frozen dough or ask you local pizza place to sell you some, top with tomato paste, mozzarella, and you favorite herbs, spices, meat and vegetables

Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza Mozzarella.

Although home made ones are nicer!

There is one called 'Chicago Town' It is very good and a reasonable price.

so simple, buy ready made bases if you don't want to make your own, get a jar of tomato pasta sauce i usually use, more flavour, grated cheese and then buy toppings of your choice - you can get pepperoni/smoked meats salami from the deli counter, and things like marinated musrooms, slice up peppers or onions or both scater them over with a pinch of oregano and bake in the oven for 10 mins - voila! your very own best pizza for less than half the price of ready made

I lived in Rome for 6 years & Tesco's finest Margarita is really tasty. A thin base that is slightly uneven & the topping looks & tastes like the authentic thing. Bit expensive £4 ish, but worth it.

You can but Pizza Express pizza's in Sainsbury's. Apart from that, there is no real authentic pizza taste in any. Dont get ripped of by "Organic" pizza as you just end up paying more for sub-standard pizza. Make it yourself, or order from a takewaya. They are cheap these days with plenty of offers available.

frozen 'take away' pizza, i think its a chicago town one? really really nice. grey box (to look like a takeaway)

My advice is keep some part-baked rolls in the freezer, along with some easy-peasy tomato sauce (fry a finely chopped onion, maybe some garlic til soft, add herbs, to puree, can of chopped toms and simmer til it tastes good & has the right consistency. Recommend sticking it in a blender to even out the texture a bit!) frozen in 1-person portions in plastic bags. Defrost sauce, (and rolls if the packet says so), open out the rolls, cover with sauce, cheese, and any other toppings you want, then chuck it in the oven for 30minutes ish.

Enjoy!
