Answers:
Here's what I do:
Scrub, clean, and quarter potatoes with the skins on. Place in the bottom of the slow cooker. Cover with carrots, cut into 1/2 inch long sticks.
I cube up the pork roast and roll it in the onion soup mix, tucking it into the slow cooker around the carrots and potatoes.
Pour over a cup of white wine and a cup of either vegetable or chicken stock. Season with fresh ground pepper. (Salt may be added to taste by the diners.)
Add herbage as desired. Thyme and parsley are good.
Set on low and leave untouched for 8 to 12 hours. Serve in deep bowls with French bread and green salad for an easy meal!

you can use a pork roast or a beef roast, or stew meat it is up to you.

When I do my pork roast I actually slow cook it with sauerkraut - yum!

Your recipe above sounds about right, count one potato and two carrots for every person eating and cut the vegetables a bit big so they don't get too soggy, mix the onion soup mix with two cups of water and pour over the top - you are GTG!

I usually make it this way with beef but pork is fine too. The onion soup mix sounds good. No real recipe , just put the meat in first with soup mix and about a 1/2 cup of water then the veges. Give it a try.
