How do I bbq kabobs ... without torching the sticks?

I assume you have wooden skewers (sticks). Soak them in a glass of water for about an hour before you want to use them. The pointed end should be the one actually IN the water since that is where you are going to stab the kabobs and put them on the grill or under the broiler. Hope this helps!
