How bottled water are sold....?!

Question:

How bottled water are sold....?

We all know and may agree that Retail Sale Pricesis more than a Wholesale Prices. However, in some cases it can be so irrational and i dont get it until now.

For ex. at Costco a 32 pack of bottled water costs only $4.27 approximating 0.13 cents per bottle.

At movie theater EACH bottled water of same size costs $3.50. I am aware of the overhead expense that the company
has to cover each day however isn't that way too much? Not to mention the food and candies and all but WATER!

They take advantage just because it leaves you no choice. I did buy once or twice but after that, I learned to bring my own. Fortunately, it is allowed.

What i'm saying is i feel bad how they can take advantage of people like that.

Question is: have you guys noticed how we get ripped off? What do you think about it and do you intend to do somethin about it like i did when i started bringing my own drink?

Answers:
While I agree that movie concession prices are high, you might want to know something. The theaters get badly ripped off by the movie companies. For some really big films, the theater makes NOTHING on ticket sales.... in some cases, they have to PAY the movie makers/distributers. Then week after week, the percentage of the gross that the movie distributors take gets smaller. Ever been to a showing with 2 people? Odds are that the theater is finally getting to keep all the proceeds of the ticket sales, after weeks or months.

Concessions account for most of the income in theaters, so they charge a lot, often too much, for what they sell.

Did you also know that recent studies have shown that between 30-40% of all "bottled water" is actually ONLY TAP WATER. It is funny that the age old joke about Evian spelled backwards (Na?ve) is coming to light.

Just another part of the rip-off

Yes, I have noticed how you guys get ripped off, I intend to keep drinking faucet water. And if you have no choice, then they have the right to make you pay more for water, It's just marketing.

yeah
