Are Aveda Products Vegetarian?!
Are Aveda Products Vegetarian?
I am a strict vegetarian and I am looking for a suitable, yet effective hair product for my curly hair. I am trying to find out whether the Aveda curly line would be a good choice for me and would adhere to my vegetarian needs (as I'm having trouble finding this information). Thank you sooo much.
(P.S. To those of you who are going to tell me that all shampoo is vegetarian and that this is a stupid question, please don't bother becuase I know what I am talking about. Many hair, face, and cosmetic products contain glycerin and other non-vegetarian ingredients derived from animals.)
Answers:
They are not vegan, but they don't test it on animals.

Yes, Aveda is strictly made from the best plants and minerals. No animals. Only plants
I buy almost all my hair and skin care stuff from companies featured on the All Natural Beauty site (http://anbportal.com - click on products) and MANY of them are vegan and none of them do animal testing. The website is vast with a ton of information about going ALL NATURAL, which, in my opinion, is the only way to go. A lot of shampoos and soaps and other beauty products that you think might be all natural really aren't - they chock full of chemicals and harsh ingredients. I learned so much from the ANB site, if even one other person checks it out and learns to be better to themselves I'll be thrilled.
A good place to start might be Apothena http://apothena.com for a bunch of good stuff (most of the descriptions indicate whether they are vegan friendly).
