Do most mexican restaurants use msg?
I have noticed that I keep getting bad headaches after eating at mexican restaurants (not the fast food variety). I am wondering if they too use a lot of msg in their foods...

My body tells me if the restaurant uses MSG but I would rather get a simple Yes or No from the staff before finding out the hard way. I have very little tolerance for places that use MSG in this day and age, it is a bad drug, period. I ask when I try a new place and if they say no I still keep my eyes open to see how brightly colored the veggies are before cautiously eating. Like I said, if they use it and don't tell me I find out after the fact and I call them up and let them know. They get one chance with me regarding MSG..
The only way to know for sure is to ask them.
You would have to ask at the particular place. Mention that you don't want any in your food; but most Mexican places don't use it to my knowledge, and I eat Mexican food quite a lot.
I would definitely call beforehand and ask; tell them that you have a serious allergy and will go into anaphylactic shock if exposed to it. Nobody wants a lawsuit; they'll 'fess up!
