Do you eat the butt of the bread?!

Question:

Do you eat the butt of the bread?

just curious

Answers:
On white bread no.
On wheat bread yes.

I know, I'm bizzare!

I think a good question too would be what does everyone call the end of the bread. I call it the heel. You call it the butt.
I have heard of some strange ones before....

yes

No, but my mom does.

No I hate it... well I'll eat it if I'm starving and have nothing better to eat

it depends if you like crust because the but of the bread is all crst if u do enjoy it i like it toasted its very crunchy

Yes, it makes the best crispest toast!!

Nope, it always goes in the trash or to the dogs.

Yeah. I don't like to waste food.

In a sliced loaf I usually eat it while i am making toast.
In french bread always the first piece.

It's called the crust over here. yes I will eat it as toast, but never as a sandwich.

On crunchy Italian bread I do but not on Wonder bread.

No.

Not usually. I let my hubby or the dog have it. Nothing wrong with it, but I like soft bread.

Save all the butts of the bread, in a ziploc bag in the fridge (so they won't mildew while saving), when you have about 10 -12 slices you can make the best bread pudding or french toast with the butts.

Yes because my boyfriend doesn't and I can't stand to waste it. I would rather eat a whole piece.

NO

No, I avoid eating bread butt. :)

We call it crust. We were taught never to waste food. Now we fight to get the crust .It is first come first served . My kids love the crust and I still do.

only if that's all that's left.

I think your referring to what we call "the heel" of the bread but if you want to eat butt, that's up to you. And yes, I eat the heel.

Yes, I do eat the 'heel' of the bread. it makes the best grilled cheese. Just make sure the crusty part is on the inside of the sandwich. That way it grills better.

well when i open up a loaf...i always fight past the first piece until someone else eats it and wheni get to the bottom, then sure i guess...but im not gonna use it on a sandwich unless there is no other bread.

No I don't. I don't like the texture of it.

sometimes ... but usually I put it out for the birds.

I was told at an early age that it made your hair curl. I've been trying ever since and it hasn't worked yet. I keep trying because I think it's a lovely part of the bread.

Yes, especially if it is a homemade loaf, fresh from the oven and warm. mmmmmmmmmmm

sometimes

yes
