Steaming seafood question?!

Question:

Steaming seafood question?

I want to steam both cod fish and steam some shrimp in my steamer at the same time.
Should I have the shrimp on the bottom stack or the cod fish, also would they cook about the same time or would one take longer then the other to cook?

Generally I bake cod fish, but I wanted to steam it in the steamer this time. I know people place fish on top of vegetables on the stove to create a steam effect on fish, but I want to try this in the steamer.

The bottom of a steamer will be hotter and will cook faster. How you arrange your food will depend on the thickness of the cod and the size of your shrimp. If it's a thick piece (1" plus) then put it on the bottom. If it's a thin fillet, then it may cook faster than the shrimp so put the cod on top in that case.

I would cook the cod on the bottom as this will take longer to cook and place the shrimp on the top. Depending what sort of steamer you have I would think the cod would take around 15-20mins and the shrimp probably only about 10mins
I have cooked salmon in my electric steamer before and it takes around 15-20mins so I expect cod is much the same

i does not really matter, what matter is what you use to steam it and instead of water use ground black pepper lemon juice and a bit of butter to steam it bon ape ti
