Will popcorn deep fry well?!

Question:

Will popcorn deep fry well?

Can you pop kernels pop in a deep fryer? If not can you successfully fry already popped popcorn? I don't encourage anyone to try it just wondering if anyone knows.

Answers:
ohhh man, don't do it...lol..when popcorn is made with too much oil, it spits the oil and can really hurt so I don't think one could deep fry it. Never tried to fry already made popcorn, hmmm you may have something there altho I think it would get soggy...

no

Logic would indicate that the exploding kernels would spray hot oil all over the place. Not recommended
As for frying popped popcorn.....why? just put a ton of butter and salt on it and watch the movie.

Probably not because just like when you put butter on the popcorn, if you put too much it just gets soggy, and thatll be the same thing, the oil will make your already popped popcorn soggy like.

Quite honestly, it doesn't sound safe to me to deep fry popcorn. Since it pops at high heat... I think it would start to pop as soon as it's added to the fat in the fryer. This may cause the kernels to fly out of the fryer and burn the cook. If you want to pop corn on the stove. Do it the old fashioned way. This method works just fine-

In a 4 quart saucepan.
Heat 2 Tablespoons of oil over medium heat.
Add 1/3 cup of popcorn, cover. heat until popping slows
Season as desired

No it wil spatter grease everywhere! highly unsafe. If your question is will it pop, yes but not in the way you want. cooked popcorn will only burn up.

I never tried it. when i do I'll tell you if it works. If i ever do.

it will not work
oil is costly
deep fryer is costly
all you need is a big pot
with a lid and a tiny amount
of oil to pop popcorn
putting popcorn in a deep fryer
at 400 degrees would burn hell
out of you and everyone else
and generally make a lot of
kitchen help highly irritable.
