Can i eat pork sausages that are 2 days out of date?!

Question:

Can i eat pork sausages that are 2 days out of date?

They've been in the fridge

Answers:
Go ahead - take them out of the fridge, wash them, pat them dry with kitchen paper and Cook Thoroughly!

If you'd have been lucky enough to buy them fresh and loose from a butcher's there'd be no sell by date and you'd check them simply by eye and smell.

Do the samre with pre-packed stuff.

The sell by date is just a guide, but it also covers the manufacturers back if you cook them after that time and fall ill - they can then refute any responsibility.

Enjoy them I say, but please, Do Cook Right Through.

yeah

they wont kill you

but they may not taste too good

well, i personally wouldnt, but smell it first and if it doesnt have any abnormal foul odors or odd coloring than it should be ok

or if you kept if frozen its ok for a pretty long time, all you have to do is thaw it

not if your`e jewish,,,:)

Yes you can...

But how hungry are you...?

Hungry enough to risk getting the shits...

if they don't smell you can eat them. They won't hurt you.

Yes, but make sure you feel them for any slimmyness, this is a sign that they are going bad. Second, smell them. They should have a "meat" smell to them, if they have a sour smell them, they are going bad. If any of these conditions exist, discard the product. If none of these conditions exist they should be safe to eat but for a further safety measure cook them to an enternal temperature of 165 degrees F.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm pork!!

God's gift to us all. Eat and be merry my friend.

they should be ok....best by dates are a privilege of us westerners

You sure can, but I can not promise that you wont get sick from it.

Sometimes you can and sometimes you can't. Look, the expiration date is a recommendation. Providing you have kept them carefully in a cold fridge all the time, you should have a couple of days leeway. Like others said, smell them first! If they smell "funny" then they ARE!

Depends how hungry you are. If that was all there was to eat, I was real hungry and they smelled OK, I'd take the chance. BUT NOT if I was going to get married the next day or meet the Pope!

Your call.......

I think this out of date business i a load of rubish
if your sausages smell OK then eat them, thats
what we used to do in days gone by,eat the buggers?
i could come and help ?

wash them with cold water first

they will be ok

Morning wagon

whether fresh or not, if something doesn't smell good to you, it won't taste good.....as gross as this sounds..when you smell something you are actually tasting the molecules of what you smelll......sorry folks, but that goes from roses to dog crap....it is how smell works.......and trust me, your sense of smell is there for a reason.....to keep you from wanting to taste a thing or not......lol

they should be ok. they have to put a date on them but this does not mean they are going to go off as soon as that date arrives. Use your own judgement do they smell OK? Do they taste normal? I would eat them

Depends did you put them in the fridge and how cold is it. If its pretty cold then I say its not overdue yet. Might still got a couple days or weeks.

since you asked the question your sausages expired more than 2 days.why do you want to risk yourself just throw them.

Yes you can, but I wouldn't eat them after 3-4 days

this is just a guide date, they will be fine just make sure they are cooked properly

I wouldn't; I'd give them to my dog.

if you have kept them refriderated and they dont smell off almost certainly. Make sure you cook them well and dont if you are in the slihtest doubt. Remember it wasnt that long ago that food labling would have said " sausages" and you would have had to use your eyes nose and brain to decide if they were safe to eat not follow blindly some label.

Maybe if you want worms in your gut you could..?!

Probably, but I would advise not.

No
