What toppings would you like to see for a vegan/vegetarian burger?!

Question:

What toppings would you like to see for a vegan/vegetarian burger?

We opened City Hot Dogs in Charlotte NC www.cityhotdogs.com and we just added a Gardenburger (vegan) to our menu. I am learning about veggie options, and would like to know what are some suggested ideas for creative burger toppings... Thanks Doug

When I make a veggie burger at home I saute spinach and squash with a little olive oil, red and black pepper and then I take the burger bun and make vegan garlic bread with it. I put the burger on the bun, add a little mustard, top it off with the spinach and squash and live a little better that day! It is SO good and definitely creative! Oh yeah, and hummus goes on everything too. Are you going to serve Yves Smart Dogs (vegan) too? I'm in Greensboro, but I fly in and out of Charlotte a lot and so maybe I'll stop by. Good luck with the new restaurant!

lots of tomatoes and sprouts, mozzarella, I'd love some artichokes on my burger yummy ( i'm pregnant so you might disregard the last one)

Tomatoes, avacado, leattuce, cucumber, pickels

I always put sauteed (in olive oil) mushrooms & onions as well as guacamole or sliced avacado on mine. YUMM-ILICIOUS! Grilled pineapple slices are another delicious and unique burger topper.

If it's vegan it can't contain any eggs or dairy, so cheese and mayo are out. Salsas, red onion, pickles, guacamole, and your basic lettuce and tomato are good-- although maybe not all at once. The goal is to add lots of intense flavor and different textures without overwhelming the burger.

MEAT!!!

mushrooms, avacado ,tomotoes,

Avocado is my favorite, hummus, or salsa, yum!

pico de gallo is good. try maybe like a relish with red onion, kalamata olive, roasted red pepper, and parsley. i know thats a lot of ingredient but veggies and vegans like the gourmet usually. something simple like a red pepper coulis is a great alternative to ketchup.

Easy. Roasted or sauteed sliced roma tomato (olive oil, salt, pepper). Fresh basil leaves (blanched). Roasted or sauteed red pepper. Sauteed yellow onion. Mozz cheese.

OLIVE TAPENADE

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup black olives
1/2 cup green olives
1 tablespoon capers (optional)
2 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, or to taste
PREPARATION:
If you've got a food processor, you can simply process all ingredients for a few seconds, being careful not to process too finely, since tapenade should not be smooth.
If you don't have a food processor, finely mince the olives and garlic, then combine with all the other ingredients, mixing well.
