list a bunch of kid friendly recipes to make together

Homemade pizza

make pizza doe, but don't do any thing else with it exept shaping it like a pizza, make enough for every body to have their own, then let them put on their own ingrediants then you cook it until it's crust golden brown and/or cheese is bubling

FamilyFun.com has loads of recipes

Pizza is a great answer, get boboli crusts and tomato sauce and let them top it anyway they want to, or you can do burgers and salad, and let them make the salad (put it together anyway) Fruit salad is fun for kids also. My son loves to make ants on a log, Celery with peanut butter, then sprinkle raisins on top.

Individual pizzas. Make face pattern etc. Also homemade cannoloni using pasta sheets they can roll up. Home made meatballs where they can mice the gounr beef etc by hand - and shape them. Kind of like playdough for dinner.

a fun thing to do for a cold dinner is make turkey pickle wraps. Use a package of turkey luncheon meat. spread cream cheese in a thin layer on each slice then roll it around a dill pickle spear. have some crakers with cheese and a fruit cup with watermelon pinapple chunks and grapes what ever you like. Kids will love doing the rollups and putting together the fruit cups.

To save money this also works great..did it all the time babysitting:
Mini English Muffin Pizzas
just add spaghetti sauce, mozzeralla cheese and pepperonis
fast easy and fun

making the real deal is great with kids too though!

Mini-pizzas using English muffins, so they can top theirs to their liking. Or, fruit kabobs are always fun (and eating them is half the entertainment). Just make sure to soak the sticks first.

Pigs in a blanket. I was going to say pizza but I see you have many ideas for that. Just use crescent rolls, slices of cheese and hot dogs and have them roll their own.
