Choc chip cookies gone wrong?!

Question:

Choc chip cookies gone wrong?

help! the last two batches of choc chip cookies I've make both turned out wrong. The taste really doughy, not like they're undercooked but more like bread rather than a cookie. They rise up and not out. So they also turn out more round than flat. What's going on, am I not measuring something right? Or forgetting something??

Answers:
Did you put in too much flour? Also check your baking powder or soda and make sure it isn't old.

Is your baking soda or powder (depending on your recipe) old? That stuff does not function as well once it becomes old.

Use plain flower not self-riseing

baking soda or baking power is a rising agent.. Sounds like its old or the amount is wrong for your patch

1] eggs?
2] baking powder/baking soda?

sounds like maybe you used baking powder instead of baking soda; the soda tends to make things rise higher than the powder
