Has anybody sealed freshly made jam by inverting the jars???!

Question:

Has anybody sealed freshly made jam by inverting the jars???

I really want to try this, but don't want to ruin a batch of peach jam....Sure Jell says you can boil the jam and the lids and wash the jars, and then invert the jars for 2 min, turn them right side up again, and they will seal. Has anybody done this?

THANKS a LOT.
:)

Answers:
Absolutely, and it works great. It's much easier than putting them in a boiling water bath! I suggest doing it for 5 minutes, though. It worked great for my Strawberry Jam. Happy canning!

I thought you inverted the jars and set them in boiling water for a few seconds.
