I ate old popcorn, will I be ok?!

Question:

I ate old popcorn, will I be ok?

I ate a bag of microwave popcorn and it didnt pop right at first but I didnt think anything of it so then I ate it all and now my stomach kinda hurts. Anyways I went to check the expiration date on it and it said best used by August 2005!!!!

Answers:
You should be fine. The FDA makes all companies put expiration dates on there products. Unless it is a perishable item such as milk, cottage cheese, meat etc... The dates are usually 1 to 2 years from the date it is packaged.
If you start vomiting, running a temperature, get diarrhea you should contact or go to your local Emergency room.
But I am betting your stomach hurting is from eating popcorn its self and not eating old popcorn. You may want to drink a glass of milk to coat your stomach and use an antacid. I have seen many patients in the Emergency room because they at foods with past expatriation dates. Most with no problems unless it was a perishable.

i am sure u'll be fine.. the stomach is probably not too happy with food it ain't like but u'll be fine

Oh yeah you'll be fine...

generally ,YES---unless, of course, that the butter, or, cooking oil has "GONE RANCID"---then you might well experience some intestinal malaise.

I think u willbe fine. I don't think kernals expire.

When I was in college, my roommates and I were so broke that we would bring home food from dates and keep it until it was finally eaten. I think I ate some popcorn that was at least a week old from a movie theater. It was pretty stale and chewy to eat--stuck in my teeth pretty bad, too---but I survived and am now 47yrs old. I still bring home movie popcorn to this day because I like it.
