Question:

Is there chicken in chickpeas?

Answers:
it's a bean

The chickpea, chick pea, garbanzo bean, ceci bean, bengal gram, hummus, chana or channa is an edible legume.

The plant grows to between 20 and 50 cm high and has small feathery leaves on both sides of the stem. One seedpod contains two or three peas. The flowers are white- or reddish-blue. Chickpeas need a subtropical or tropical climate and more than 400 mm annual rain. They can be grown in a temperate climate, but yields will be much lower. It is often used as an alternative protein product with vegetarians and vegans and is one of the plants with the highest amount of protein.

Oh, ha ha ha...clever.

no! its a garbonzo bean

you have enough answers telling you what chicpea is & a lot of useful information too,but with 56% best answers to your credit i guess you must be joking ,chick peas are grown & cooked in many countries to make a wide variety of dishes,a dish popular in north India is 'chole',who;e chickpeas cooked in a spicy gravy, served with 'puri' ,which is rounds of rolled dough, deep fried till they puff up,

I also wonder if they are made out of chicken. Thanks for this wonderful question as I'd like to try some in one of my meals. I'm allergic to chicken that's why.

It's good to hear it is a legume- part of the bean family.

there's no chicken in chickpeas.

No more than there is pigeon in pigeon peas! The other name for chickpeas is garbanzo beans.
