Why do some people make the worst coffee ever?!

Question:

Why do some people make the worst coffee ever?

Surely it's the most simple thing ever, yet some people manage to make the coffee taste like a*s. Why?

Answers:
Usually becasue they over brew it and it becomes BITTER, then it is very much in need of cream and/or sugar to try and correct that taste. In short, the longer the contact with the grounds, (or contact with the heat) the WORSE the coffee usually is.

If you want some thing made to your own fussy requirements, make it yourself.

I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Choca mocha for me.

why do some people ask the worst questions ever? LIKE YOU!!!

They probably do it on purpose so that you dont ask them to make you another one! :o)

I do it on purpose.

have to admit i make a pretty bad cup, but that's cos i don't drink it myself.

they need to follow the directions, one teaspoon per cup

usually the ppl who dont drink coffee themselves.

I hate coffee always have.

In my career I have had several bosses who believed it was my job to make them coffee. No one ever asked me to make it more than once!

Someone has be make the worst coffee in the world, and only one person can do it...

Someone has to make the worst (and best), of anything in the world.

They lack the proper skills...it drives me crazy. An easy simple task, how can you screw it up?!

doesn't apply to me. I use a £200 Gaggia machine and my coffee is the talk of the steamie, trust me.

.

it's so you don't ask em to make another one.

If you want a perfect cup of coffee. Make it yourself

Its a classic trick, they do it on purpose so that you wont ask them again, I pretended I couldnt make tea for two yrs when I was at uni, then my flatmates caught me out when they tried my own tea.

Do you hear them mutter ' oh, god here comes that gemma'?
That could be a big clue !!

Simple?

Not so if the toffs at Stirbucks would have their way.
They say it takes 3 years to become a top barists.
What tosh.

My gran used to make the best coffee ever from ground acorns and chicory. But that was in 1946

Ok. Confession time...
I DELIBERATELY make bad coffee because I hate the whole process of making it so I reckon if I make it really bad, certain people won't ask or expect it again. *LOL*
Of course there are some die-hard coffee drinkers who'll drink any slop just so long as it resembles 'coffee'...
As you can tell this trategy does back-fire and needs to be polished.
Any tips?
:-)

Normally because they don't drink coffee themselves...I don't drink tea and I make the worst tea ever.....

According to my step-dad I make the best coffee in my house. Maybe i could make money out of it. Now there's an idea!

Because that 's what they want to drink and the kind of people you want to drink with. May be they donot know the real tase of coffee.

They make bad coffee so that no one askes them to make coffee again!

They don't let it simmer long enough.

The trick to making coffee is to steep it in heat for the least amount of time possible. That's why a siphon is one of the best ways of making it. A filter and boiling water is second best and so a mister coffee machine is also a good way to make it, except don't keep heating it afterwards. Turn it off and have that coffee then, and then make new if you want more. If you leave it on the burner all day the taste gets bad.

It only happens when they burn the water!!

It really depends on the coffee beans they use... Where they come from. Has anyone ever checked to see where the coffee beans come from and compared the taste?? There is definitely a difference in the taste and you may not be use to the other person's coffee...

If you are in the UK it is probably because your host is using instant coffee. There are one or two good instants around but the Brits get sucked in by clever advertising and think they are sophisticated by buying "that one on the telly". Probably the worst so called premium brand is Nescafe closely followed by Gold Blend. If you are used to good coffee and someone gives you a cup of either of them it will taste like bath water. It is all relative to what you normally drink. Just by posting this question I would guess that you know your coffee and are used to the good stuff.

They are usually the ones who dont drink it. I dont drink coffee, so when I make it at work, I havent got a clue how it tastes.
