Yes, bc they have caffine in them! Esp. coffee! You can always buy decaf coffee and maybe switch to green tea!

I don't believe it affects the growing of a teenager if that is what you are asking. That is usually what people think when they think of people restricting caffeine of younger people. I do think it makes it hard to sit still and concentrate in people who already have a lot of energy to burn, which is generally the definition of young teen. So I don't believe it helps anything to drink it when you are younger, and having an early start on a caffeine reliance, defiantly not something you want to work for.

but yea, caffeine is truly harmful to us all. most definitely to unborn (low birth weight, heart problems...)
young children (learning difficulties, addiction, sleep deprivation, nervous disorders...)
and yep teenagers (including heart arrhythmia's, addictions, head aches, nervous disorders, reduction of REM....)

I would say it depends how much you drink of them. Obviously they contain caffeine and probably sugar, but if you just have one or two a day then it shouldn't be a problem. Try and drink plain water or herbal tea (which you can make into your own iced tea) and not too many fizzy drinks. If you are buying these drinks pre-packaged as opposed to home made they are likely to have other additives in too, which you don't want too much of. Provided you feel well, don't worry. If you feel irritable or get headaches then that means you need to cut down.

They used to tell us coffee stunted our growth, so for the most part, I avoided it, except by the age of 13 I liked Coffee Ice cream, (and that never killed me), so around the age of 15, I started drinking coffee, now I'm 6'0 tall.
I think it was just an excuse to keep us from bouncing off the walls. Tea has a better form of caffeine. Coffee really is kind of borderline.
