What kind of Asian noodles expand the second they hit hot grease?!

Question: What kind of Asian noodles expand the second they hit hot grease?
I've been trying to find out what kind of Asian noodles it is that are white in color (and kind of translucent when cooked), they're about the size of angel hair pasta, and when you put them in hot grease (or oil, whichever), they immediately expand to two or three times their size. I've tried Google, but no luck. I know what they look like, but I just don't know what they're called. I've looked in a few grocery stores, but no luck. And there isn't an Asian grocery store of any kind near me. Could someone please tell me what they are called? Thanks! :)
