Hungry Jack is a franchise of Burger King. So technically they are the same company, but as they are not owned corporately, but have individual owners, the name is changed.

The burger king name was already being used by another restaurant.
The Burger King scares me, I don't go there.
Are you sure it is the same company? If it is, it could be as simple as Buger King buying out Hungry Jack's and keeping the name because you Australians are used to that name.
Because a different name projects a different image for a different place. Hungry Jacks is a better fit for the outback.
Just like some places a restaraunt is called country buffet but its also called hometown buffet in other cities.
um mm maybe Australia comprehends what they sell and make different maybe they think the burger is a pancake?
it is part of d franchise deal.. u juz buy their franchise but u can use a different name .. wikipedia on "franchise" for more info if u want..
It is all part of business dealings.. profitmaking and stuffs lol
Australia use to be a colony of England. they don't like to be reminded of this, therefore burger king became hunger jack in Australia......
