What side dishes should I serve with fried Catfish?

Answers:
So many to choose...you could have coleslaw, hush puppies or macaroni. I'd also recommend cajun seasoned fries.

i would suggest a nice pint of Guinness nothing goes better with fish than a Guinness

I guess I am traditional because I would have to include cold potato salad.

Coles Slaw, Tomatoe Slices, Vidallia onion slices, salad, green beans, Now I am hungry.

fries, coleslaw and hush puppies, also fresh sliced onion and dill pickles

I like hushpuppies with fried catfish.
Here's a site for the recipe -

potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, hush puppies, fries, ranch beans, pea salad - really anything like that would be good.

Spaghetti and cold slaw

Salad, fries, hush puppies, cold slaw, deviled eggs....I'm making myself hungry!

Lasagna, Jell-O, and Peanut Butter.

French fries, or a nice mix of rice and vegetables..

Years ago I worked in a Cajun restaurant and there they served it with Krewe Rice and steamed veggies

coleslaw, fries and hushpuppies. there are so many you could choose from but 2 me and many others, those go the best.

Homemade mac and cheese and cornbread.

Everyone has really good ideas and I'd stick with the Coleslaw but with a twist. It's called Cajun Coleslaw, here's the recipe:

Amount Ingredient Preparation
5 tablespoons mayonnaise (heaping)
1 teaspoon hot sauce
2 tablespoons mustard yellow (heaping)
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 each lemon juice of
1 x salt to taste
4 each sweet bell peppers sliced
2 each onions medium, shredded
1 large shredded

Directions
Put mayonnaise and mustard in a bowl large enough to hold complete
mixture, but shaped so that the mixture can be beaten with a fork.
Beat mayonnaise and mustard until combined. Add olive oil slowly,
beating all the time. Beat until mixture has returned to the
thickness of original mayonnaise. Add Louisiana hot sauce, continuing
to beat. Add ketchup and keep beating. Add salt and garlic salt,
beating all the time. Add wine vinegar (this will thin the sauce
down). Beat this thoroughly, adding the lemon juice as you do so.
Taste for salt and pepper. Place shredded cabbage, peppers, and onions
in a large salad bowl. pour sauce over and toss well. This should be
done about an hour before serving. Tastes even better the next day.

gritz

Cheesy Grits

Ingredients
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups boiling water
1 cup old-fashioned grits
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup butter
1-10 ounce package Velveeta Mild Mexican Cheese

Directions
In a sauce pan, add the salt to the boiling water and add the grits. Cook until the grits are done (about 15 minutes), stirring frequently.
To the cooked grits, add the eggs, butter, cheese, and Mrs. Dash. Spoon into 8 ramekins (small, round porcelain baking dishes). Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until brown and bubbly.

Serves 8.

curley q french fries

Cajun spiced Dirty Rice and a green vegetable like grilled Asparagus with olive oil and garlic and hush puppies or garlic biscuits.

Baked potoes, cole slaw and beer.

Have a relish/cheese plate for munching and pickle dip with
a variety of crackers.

Macaroni & Cheese
Collard Greens

Serve with collard greens, macaroni
and cheese, cole slaw and hush puppies.

Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

good answers from everyone, but they all forgot the main one fried or boiled or grilled corn on the cob..

coleslaw, french fries, hushpuppies, fried dill pickles

These are very common and the only way a southern eats their fish.

Down here in southern Louisiana we cook up a pot of navy pea white beans and a pot of rice with our fried fish, and of course some good corn bread. But sometimes it's just french fries and a salad.

cheese grits

Hush puppies macaroni and cheese cole slaw

I'd say the BEST would be
1. fries
2. coleslaw
3.cream corn
4. mac & cheese
