What do dates mean on packaging (best by,use by,etc.)?!

Question:

What do dates mean on packaging (best by,use by,etc.)?

Answers:
it means it's best if used by that date. or it expires on that date.

Mostly those dates are a guideline to grocery stores, depending on the product, of course. The dates on milk cartons are sell by dates - the milk should still be good at least a couple of days past that date if it is stored properly.

For use by dates, the quality of the food is guaranteed by the producer until that date. The quality probably won't diminish that drastically after that date, but if you try it after that, and it's not as good as it used to be, you can't get a refund/replacement.

that means it not good any more to eat or to use on food because it has went bad..

that means product is to be consumed by those dates but its generaly the shelf life of products before deterioration
