In the summer, we luv 2 cookout, but 4 some reason when we grill steak it ends up 2 tough. Is there something I can do 2 it b4 sending it 2 the grill? Something besides meat tenderizer b/c I find that 2 salty.

Answers:
hit it with one of those meat-tenderising hammers that have lots of spikes on them.

Also cook the meat for less time

marinate it in something containing wine or lemon

Buy better meat, dont overcook it and you wont need to tenderise it at all.

beat off onto it

MARINATE IT! :D

Get one of those hammer looking dillies with the sharp triangle looking things at the end and pound the sh*t out of it. Then give me some when you're done cooking! :)

They sell special meat tenderizers, basically its a metal mallat with spikes on both sides. you pull out the steak and hit it with the mallat with the spikes it makes it more tender, It sounds weird but I am serious try it out :D

you can tenderize it with a meat mallod, or marinate it @ least 6-8 hours b4 cooking. or do what i do is both except i marinate for a day or so, it will be so tender

Buy T-Bone steak and season it with season salt and pepper and it will be the best steak ever!

You can always beat it with one of those whachumacallits. Mmmmmm steak...I want one :)

The number one and most easily accessible way to tenderize would be to marinade your steaks in V-8 tomato juice. I add chopped onions and minced garlic with olive and vegetable blend oil. Let them marinade in the refrigerater for at least 3 hours, but over night would be best. 3-4 minutes on each side of the steaks makes for about a medium to medium well steak...Enjoy!

4 best results, buy steaks that are at least 1 1/2 in. thick. The way I do it is 2 marinate it in olive oil and dry red wine 4 about 4 hours in the refrigerator b4 I put it on the grill. I pat it dry & then I let it rest 4 about 30 minutes 2 bring it 2 room temperature b4 I put it on the grill. 1 thing u have 2 watch out 4 is 2 not cook it 2 long. Cook it on a very hot fire 4 just about 4 minutes on each side. If you haven't tried med rare or med, try it it will be more tender and juicy 4 u. Let it rest 4 a couple of minutes b4 u eat it so the juices will stay in the steak and not run out all over ur plate. Also if u are going to season it, do it b4 you cook it. I like a lot of black pepper on mine. Whatever u do, don't beat it with a mallet. It will ruin ur steak.
Good luck and good cooking.

Make sure it's all the same thickness before cooking then marinade it, . When you BBQ it under cook it just a little bit then put it on a plate with foil over it sealed as tight as you can get it to let it "rest". Plus you may need to sear it by cooking it on high heat first, then turning the temp down to let it get to desired redness/wellness.
DO NOT poke/pierce the steak/meat at any time during cooking, it will let all the juices out, and it will become like eating a sneaker!
Careful with the marinade time because the acidity will partially "cook" the meat before putting it on the grill.
Good luck!

What really works for me is to tenderize it for a few minutes with Worcestershire sauce, a small glass of beer, a little garlic, salt& pepper. Place it in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes. Do not beat or pierce the steak. Use tongs to turn the meat.

Once you remove it place on a medium to medium high grill and cook for about 3 - 5 minutes each side depending on the cut of meat. You just want that perfect sear and gril marks. Then you can place inside a tin foil enclosure and let the heat cook the meat more. Add more Worchesteshire .

Some steaks cook faster and tougher than others. Most steaks should be cooked to medium or medium rare to keep it's tenderness and juicness. To try something different, marinade with a little thyme or rosemary. Gives a different taste that you will enjoy. You can also marinade with some Emeril's Essence or the cheap route is to by one of the Jack Daniel's marinade packages at your local Walmart.

Get a papaya, skin it,chunk it and mash it.Spread all over the steak along with any seasonings you want to use and refrigerate overnight. Will cook up perfectly. Papaya is the main ingredient in meat tenderizers (Papain Extract)I have been doing it this way for 20+ years

when you are picking out your steaks, make sure they are nice and marbled with fat. this is not a rip-off, that fat melts into the meat and adds flavor and makes your steak juicy and tender. also- if you are eating your steak well done, it is going to be chewy. pay good money for a large hunk of meat, cut it yourself, and eat it medium well AT THE MOST.
