The best chewy chocolate chip cookie recipe that I have found is actually on the back of the butter crisco container. They make the best cookies and they are so soft and chewy...mmmmmmmmm

I use the recipe on the back of the chip bag, but my secret to making them more chewy is to add a 1/4 cup more flour and bake them for about 3 minutes less than what is called for.

I hate crunchy cookies. This is the recipe my mom has always used. They're really good. Soft too.

2 1/4 cups flour
1 teas baking soda
1 teas salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cups sugar
3/4 cups brown sugar
1 teas vanilla
2 eggs
1 3/4 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350*. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in bowl. Set aside. In mixer bowl, beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs, beating well after each one. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop dough by Tblsp onto cookie sheets. Bake for 11 - 13 mintues or until light brown around the edges.
