Soft Shell Crab Question .....?!

Question:

Soft Shell Crab Question .....?

I have wanted to try soft shell crab for almost a year now. I was at a seafood festival last year at the Jersey shore when I first heard of them and will be heading back this weekend. And I've heard they are delicious....and yes I know that they stop eating for three days before they molt blah blah blah...... (and this is going to sound gross but I want to know exactlly what I am putting into my mouth before I do so!)but when they say you eat the WHOLE crab...do they really mean the WHOLE thing or is it like gutted or something? I feel really stupid but thought I should ask anyway........

Thanks......

Answers:
The crabs are cleaned of the gills (what we call dead-men) the part you scrap off when you eat boiled crabs. They also cut off the mouth and eye part. So what you are really eating is all of the meat of the crab which you normally would along with the softened shell around it.
Fried soft shell crabs are delicious. I hope you enjoy!
