Why is coke and pepsi black colored ?!

Question:

Why is coke and pepsi black colored ?

??

Answers:
caramel coloring

they not black colored but brown, look closely

caramel coloring added

first off, it isnt black its brown but they add carmel coloring to give it that color as well as coca leaf and kola nut extract..all contribute to its dark color.

i think they added the dark colring because of all of the extracts in the cola...old time soda had extracts of cinnimon and lime...its is believed coke and pepsi still do...

It's due to the "Caramel coloring" added, it is an artificial coloring that is safe to eat. It is commonly added to soft drinks, bread, cookies, and other breads and treats to make them look "brown" or a "tan" color. Go to google.com and search caramel coloring and you will get a lot of information about it.

Mostly because of artificial clour and flavor. It's caramel colour, and it's also because of aspartane. Most people would probably not want to drink coke or pepsi if it was see through, since it would seem like its more like a copy of sprite or 7 up/

I dont know but I need one RIGHT NOW......................PHULE...

The caramel coloring that is added to the recipe...

Because of the caramel coloring added to the drink.
