If Sodium Benzoate causes neurological damage, and apples have it, are they bad?!

Question:

If Sodium Benzoate causes neurological damage, and apples have it, are they bad?

Reading up on the recent news that stated that a chemical known as Sodium Benzoate contained in soda causes Parkinsons Disease, I found that apples, prunes, pickles, some juices, all contain it as a perservative. Mainly because it is cheap, should people stop eating those? Are they bad?

as the saying goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor around

I think that the Sodium Benzoate might be 'safe' in fruits. Like unsaturated oils found in fish. those oils are healthy for your heart while other kinds are kinda harmful. Maybe the Sodium Benzoate might be the same. sorry I really couldn't help

It's in almost every processed food, so yeah, they would all be bad according to that study. It's probably in the pesticide they use on fruit, so just buy organic apples, and you'll be fine.

I would suggest looking for foods with "organic" labels on them, meaning there are no artificial preservatives used in or on them. Also, stay away from artificial sweetners, MSG, and corn syrup. I go to a doctor in a practice who will only prescribe medicine if its the only option, he uses natural methods such as diet and supplements to correct the chemical imbalances in our bodies that cause alot of ailments.

Mabye its only bad in large quantities, or its concentrated in the seeds. apple seeds also contain cyanide, a very toxic chemical, which is why you are not supposed to feed whole apples to animals. (at least not llamas)

Either remove peels or buy Organic

Awwwwh
You twisted the report
You Know the report "suggested" that IN SOME cases it was found
HeQQ even mulit-vitimans have become a heart risk IN some people.
6,000,000,000 + people have no concern and too many are starving.
Bring up somethin of intrest that will help..

Some dried fruits use it as and other sulfites as a preservative, but its not found in fresh organic fruit. There are many other chemicals in processed foods that are of concern as well. I eat strictly whole, organic foods to avoid the toxic pesticide residues and chemicals. My health has improved dramatically since making the switch
