Why are banana peels slippery?!

Question:

Why are banana peels slippery?

i was playing mario kart on my N64 and the thought just came to mind

Answers:
Bananna peels do have alot of oil in them. The ancient egyptians used to use it as a lubricant. Not as slippery as a grape on a linoleum floor though.

The banana itself on the inside has a slippery layer on the outside to help it when it ripes.

they arent

lol i always wondered why to when i played that game
