If an egg is fresh, does it float or sink?!
If an egg is fresh, does it float or sink?
Also, if a yolk has burst inside the egg, does that mean that the egg is bad?
Answers:
if your egg is floating then it is bad due to the air pocket in the egg being bigger hence the egg will float
A fresh egg will sink. Not sure about the burst yoke part - I would go by the way it smells more than anything else.
im pretty sure it sinks if it is fresh and floats if its gon off
SINK IF IT FLOATS ITS OFF SO DONT EAT IT .
sink
sinks if fresh.throw away the egg if in doubt you can get very sick if you eat a bad egg
if its at the bottom and horizontal its the best.....
if its at the bottom but pointing up its ok.....
floating is dodgy....throw away....
if its lept out and running away .....give chase as you might have a chick......
i've never seen an egg yolk burst without having some crack in it. i would toss it. and it should sink if it's fresh.
If the eggs is good it will sink, If the yolk burst it is a bad egg
The egg will sink if its fresh, and the yolk bursting does not indicate that the egg is bad.

Definitely sink. If if floats, it has more gas, that means the egg is rotten.
If it's bad, it'll probably float. Egg shells are porous and so water evaporates out of them over time; the egg and yolk shrink, which makes the air sac inside the shell expand, which eventually makes it float.
Course the floating isn't the main test of whether the egg's bad. If you crack it and the smell makes you retch, then that's a good indication that you should have chucked it away. ;)
(ps it's unlikely that the yolk burst inside the shell. It probably caught on the edge of the shell as you were tipping it out.)
sink
Float - get rid.
