Whats the difference between a baguette and a petit parisenne (sp)?!

Question:

Whats the difference between a baguette and a petit parisenne (sp)?

They look similar.

Answers:
What you know as the baguette is formally speaking 'pain parisien', the 400g, long loaf of bread, iconic of everything French the world over. The 'petit parisien' is the half-size (200g) version, that has become so beloved of french bread sandwich franchises just about everywhere you happen to see one.

Hope this helps.

A baguette is a long loaf of crusty French bread and a Petit Parisienne' is a small French person. I kid you, it is possibly a smaller version of the baguette. Back home in Louisiana we called it a pistolette'.
