Does anyone know the name of this particular potato food?!

Question:

Does anyone know the name of this particular potato food?

I remember in high school eating this potato thing. It looks almost like a round hash brown but it's a little bigger. It had a crispy brown crust on the outside and when you eat it, it taste like it was stuffed with mashed potatos on the inside. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If so, do you know the name?

I'm sorry, I got hash brown and tator tots confused. The thing I'm looking for is a little bigger than a tator tot, not a hash brown. Sorry. Anyone know?

Sounds like the potato puffs my mom used to make out of left- over mashed potatoes.
Add egg to leftover mashed potatoes
Salt and pepper to taste
Mix in enough flour to make a light dough (just enough to hold it together)
Optional- add onion, parsley, or whatever you like
Either roll into a golf ball size ball and deep fry or
Pat into pancake and fry until crispy on the outside.

Was it POTATO LATKES

Sounds like a potato pancake...they serve them at Denny's too!
