Fruit

In purely scientific definition, it is a fruit. However US government has ruled it a "vegetable" due to taxation reasons.

fruit

Modern society commonly refers to all these fruits as vegetables:
Pumpkin
Squash
Tomato
Cucumbers
Green beans
Capsicum peppers
Bell peppers

Fruit. It has it's seed inside, therefore it is a fruit. But wait what about bananas? Those little black things inside are the seeds.

If you eat it as a fruit, it's a fruit.

If you eat it as a vegetable, it's a vegetable.

It tastes the same either way.

fruit

Certain fruits like tomatoes and green beans will probably always be mostly referred to as "vegetables" in today's society.

A tomato is actually a berry. It is classified as a vegetable so the US government can tax it. Learned that by wathing GOOD EATS on the FOOD NETWORK.
