The braided pretzels I have are about 100 calories for 3. They are fat free. As long as you can eat just the serving amount, you'll be okay. So take 3 out and put the rest away or that 100 calories will be 500 before you know it. ;-)
They are not the healthies snack, just better than cakes, cookies,etc. They are just flour, there is no real nutritional value. Choosing fruit or veggies is a better choice.

Depends on what kind of diet you are on. If you are on low fat type diet, yes it is an acceptable snack as long as amount is reasonable. However if you are on a low carb type of diet (such as South Beach or Atkins) that is an absolute poison to your diet.
the ones bought at restaurants are not really good for dieting. the flour used in their dough is very refined, meaning it doesn't contain the whole wheat kernel or the healthiest parts. go more for whole wheat products- you could probably make healthy pretzels if you're ambitious- you just need to purchase the grains at the grocery and make it! it'd be worth it. the sauces found at the mall pretzel stands arent good for you either, theyre high calorie and fat. try salsa or hummus for dipping. otherwise popcorn is a good snack, or fresh fruit is even better- it has fiber and vitamins you need.
