Does anyone have a recipe for buttercream frosting made with coffee mate?!

Question:

Does anyone have a recipe for buttercream frosting made with coffee mate?

Years ago, I had a recipe for buttercream frosting that used cremora or coffee mate powdered creamer in place of milk or cream, because then you didn't have to refridgerate it. It was delicious, not to sweet, just perfect. Unfortunately, after moving a while back, the recipe was lost. I got the recipe after I took decoraing classes at a little shop in Roseville, MI, I think it was called the Cake and Candy Cupboard. Maybe someone out there can help me find it!

Answers:
Buttercream frosting ingredients are usually the same so instead of milk add your coffee mate, or make your powder into a liquid and use it, all the other ingredients will remain the same.

Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened
8 cups confectioners' sugar
6 tablespoons milk<< sub your coffee mate
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Food coloring, optional

Prep:
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla (frosting will be thick). Add food coloring if desired.

I would just try to recreate the recipe myself. Just find out the measurements to go from liquid to dry measurements and have some fun in your kitchen. Most buttercream frostings only take a few Tablespoons of cream or milk to get the proper spreading consistency. You could also experiment with the new flavors they offer.

You can use the recipe above, but if you plan on taking this cake somewhere outside or someplace where the air conditioning isn't on, you will need to use half butter, half crisco in that recipe. Perhaps even all crisco and just add another teaspoon of your coffee mate flavoring.

Trust me, I make cakes all the time and the all butter recipe will not stand up to high heat and humidity.
