What, if anything, is the difference between hotcakes, flapjacks and pancakes?!

Question:

What, if anything, is the difference between hotcakes, flapjacks and pancakes?

Hey it's breakfast time here and I'm hungry.

Answers:
*There's absolutely no difference in the recipe and the ingredients but the shape, size, thickness might vary from province to province and with it, its name !!!!!!!
Enjoy them !! Whatever they may be called!!

i was just talking abou this the other night. i dont think there is a difference at all. i dont know if in one area of the country they say one or the other. i dont think so.

stop is right cause it depends what part of the country you come from that they use these terms for pancakes . good luck and happy eating .

the difference is the lingo and that is all. the only other possible difference might be personal recipes. i'd say the best bet is that different people in their areas have their own way to talk. before political correctness, there were truckers, rednecks trailer trash and such and they all had there own rendition of English.

No difference at all - it just depends on what part of the country you are in. Pancakes are southern, hotcakes are northern & flapjacks came from the miners & lumberjacks out west.......They are yummy whatever you call them!!

its the consistancy ...re size, thick ,thin.........i think

hmmm this question confuses me!
i live in UK,and Flapjacks aremade of oats, syrup and butter mixed together and baked!
i have never heard of hotcakes
pancakes are the only thing that is probably the same!
