Anyone know how to make homemade pop tarts?!

Question:

Anyone know how to make homemade pop tarts?

Answers:
You can use pie dough instead of the puff pastry.

Just fix in the same manner but prick the top side of the crust with a fork before you fold over. Bake with the holes facing up, let cool & freeze.

Just pop them in your toaster from the freezer to reheat.

If you want them glazed, just mix some up from powdered sugar, melted butter & a bit of liquid (milk or oj or whatever) and keep the glaze in the fridge. When your tart pops up from the toaster glaze it then.

Make them when I have leftover pie dough.

the only solution i have is to spread jam on sweet pastry,or cookie dough.fold over and bake!!!

Youll need some puff pastry from your local grocery store. Then some jam.
Jelly would be too runny. Preserves would work too.
Then place some jam in the middle of two pieces of puff pastry then seal it with a fork on the edges. Brush lightly with butter both sides.
Bake at 350 degrees for about ten minutes.
Then you can put a glaze on it.
My favorite is with orange juice and powder sugar.

Homemade Pop-Tarts:

pie dough
jam

1. Take pie dough, roll out as usual. Cut into rectangles.
2. Spread jam on half of them, leaving a half inch or so on the edges without jam. Cover with the other half of the rectangles. Crimp the edges with a fork.
3. Bake till the pie dough is done.
4. You can frost these with a simple glaze, like powdered sugar and milk, or leave plain. You can either make up a batch of these, or just do one or two with leftover dough the next time you make a pie.
